About Us

OUR MISSION   

Our mission is to develop the emotional intelligence, social and practical skills of young people between the ages of 9 - 21 within Birmingham with special focus placed upon young people who live in regeneration areas. This includes young people who are either disengaged with education, at risk of becoming disengaged with education, in care or at risk of going into care, struggling with anxiety, depression and low self-esteem; involved in anti-social / criminal behaviour and at risk of going to prison and those soon to be released from prison back into the community. 

Children with unresolved problems become adults with unresolved problems and by then whatever damage has been done is harder to treat. The prison service is filled with young  people and adults, many of whom either have mental health issues or severe adverse childhood experiences and never got the assistance they needed when they needed. We want to enable young people to develop the necessary skills to overcome childhood trauma, recreate themselves and find new positive identities that will enable them to have a fresh start, with a new perspective on life and a burning desire to achieve their goals.

WHY US?

Our presentations and workshops are designed to educate, inspire, motivate, mentor and support young people who want to make positive changes in their lives, but either don't know where to start or find it hard without the support of people with the experience, understanding and knowledge of the environment these young people live in and the types of situations and circumstances they go through. 

We have years of knowledge and experience in working with young peoples with various challenges including depression, anti-social behaviour, violent behaviour and gang membership and we have developed a number of strategies to help tackle the rise in knife crime and youth crime.
